Clyde Introduction and Pre-season 2011
Hey guys and welcome to my first official Clyde post.
This is my assistants team report:

loanee Mentel and Gallagher far exceed the rest of the team and should be my star players this season (according to my assistant)
And now for some basic info:

As you can see we are predicted 7th but I believe we can achieve a top half finish. I am definately hoping for promotion although I am extremely doubtful of doing it this season. We also have no transfer budget and very tight wages. Looks like free transfers and loans for me.
I decided not to sell anyone just yet as I have a small and not the best of squads.

So these are my transfers in. All free transfers and loans as predicted. If you want any screenshots feel free to ask
I also had two competitive cup fixtures at the end of July before the season started, one in the Scottish Challenge Cup and one in the Scottish league cup and unfortunately I got drawn against First Division side Falkirk for both.
Scottish Challenge Cup

I thought we played very well against Falkirk considering our squad was still blending together and we were playing a team two leagues above our own. We were let down by our lack of composure in front of goal without a single shot on target and needing an own goal to get back in the game. But despite this i am still proud of the boys.
Scottish League Cup

Another good performance against Falkirk, this time we took them to extra time but again we were defeated but this was expected with them being a far superior team. Mentel had a fantastic game anddeserved his man of the match saving us on many an occasion. I am happy with the two games and our performances ans i am optimistic going into the season.
Well thats all for this post. Thanks for reading and I hope you continue to read my story

Welcome back!
You did well to only go down 2-1 to Falkirk, they have a much better team so that was a good effort from your players!
I’ll be looking at your August update now

Glad you are back Cruickshanks! And another Scottish League story is great too. I think you’ve taken the right approach with transfers – get in frees and loans but consistent squad revolution will be important. Sell/buy often! You may also want to look for a parent club.

Thanks Celticman! I always enjoy playing as lower Scottish teams although I’m not the best at it. There wasn’t really a choice when it came to transfers, we’ll just see if the players are up to the challenge
