Clyde – September 2011

Posted on November 26th, 2011 in Clyde,Football Manager 2012 by Cruickshanks

Hey guys and welcome back to another Clyde post, brought to you from Broadwood stadium!
Last month we ended with 6 points out of a possible 15 and were sitting 6th in the league.

Only two games this month due to cup games (of which I have been knocked out) and an international break which i don’t understand as third division teams don’t exactly have many international superstars but anyway only two games and a rather short post!

We should have performed much better in this match against the team bottom of the league! even still im pleased we managed to come from behind (even though we lost it again) and showed great determination which somewhat eases the pain, also Grants own goal had me in stitches!

A very even match and only a goalmouth scramble and lucky goal could seperate the teams. Still we got the win and 3 points which is all that matters. We also started to play a nice passing game in the second half which I’m sure the fans enjoyed.

Well because it was such a short post with only two games and I’m such a nice guy I’m going to show you Montose defender Grant’s comedy own goal when we played them.

Do enjoy :D

well thanks for reading guys, feel free to comment and I hope to see you next month!

Clyde – August 2011

Hey guys and welcome to Broadwood stadium as we venture into the start of our first season at the club.
The fixture lists have been published and well I feel we can do well going into our first month in charge.

5 games in August, a possible 15 points, although I feel 6-10 would be a suitable amount wouldn’t you agree? Although we will see how things go and how my team play before I start making predictions.

I have to say I’m quite disappointed with my teams performance especially in the final third, I feel our strikers should have done much better than they did and we should have came out with at least a point although this is football and such things happen we just need to pick ourselves up and concentrate on the next game.

Our first win of the season and I’m absolutely delighted, we dominated possesion and always looked like winning away from home which is always good. Irvines goal came from a front post header from a corner but any win no matter the difference in goals is great for me.

Elgin completely outplayed us and deserved to win, although i am pleased with the majority of possession despite our inferior performance. Judging by elgins other games this season they look like clear favourites and this league should be a walk in the park for them.

again our poor shooting lets us down. we need to improve our shooting accuracy much more as we always seem to miss too many chances, maybe i am expecting too much of a scottish third division team, maybe not, i just hope it improves in the future.

What a game! Even better that we won! I was devistated when i thought we had thrown it away in the 83rd minute just after taking the lead but a lovely individual run and goal from kane in the 92nd minute proved crutial andd ensured the happy atmosphere in the dressing room.

6th in the league? not bad if i say so myself, but not great either and plenty of room for improvement and im looking for a top half finish (play-offs but i don’t want to seem cocky). Although there is still many more games to play and i look forward in optimism!

well guys thanks for reading and i hope you enjoyed yourself. Hope you continue to read and enjoy my story, see you later :D

Greatest Upset in History?

While playing through my casual Celtic/Croatia save I came across this result in the SPL and to be honest it was a complete shock to me although I did take great joy from it!

Hibs 7-1 Rangers !!! Being a huge Celtic fan I couldn’t help but love this result and I still can’t believe it to be honest! It was a very even match also so for it to be such a large difference is astonishing to say the least.

Clyde Introduction and Pre-season 2011

Posted on November 19th, 2011 in Clyde,Football Manager 2012 by Cruickshanks

Hey guys and welcome to my first official Clyde post.

This is my assistants team report:

loanee Mentel and Gallagher far exceed the rest of the team and should be my star players this season (according to my assistant)

And now for some basic info:

As you can see we are predicted 7th but I believe we can achieve a top half finish. I am definately hoping for promotion although I am extremely doubtful of doing it this season. We also have no transfer budget and very tight wages. Looks like free transfers and loans for me.

I decided not to sell anyone just yet as I have a small and not the best of squads.

So these are my transfers in. All free transfers and loans as predicted. If you want any screenshots feel free to ask :)

I also had two competitive cup fixtures at the end of July before the season started, one in the Scottish Challenge Cup and one in the Scottish league cup and unfortunately I got drawn against First Division side Falkirk for both.

Scottish Challenge Cup

I thought we played very well against Falkirk considering our squad was still blending together and we were playing a team two leagues above our own. We were let down by our lack of composure in front of goal without a single shot on target and needing an own goal to get back in the game. But despite this i am still proud of the boys.

Scottish League Cup

Another good performance against Falkirk, this time we took them to extra time but again we were defeated but this was expected with them being a far superior team. Mentel had a fantastic game anddeserved his man of the match saving us on many an occasion. I am happy with the two games and our performances ans i am optimistic going into the season.

Well thats all for this post. Thanks for reading and I hope you continue to read my story :)

Returning to FM Crowd

Posted on November 19th, 2011 in Clyde,Football Manager 2012 by Cruickshanks

Hey guys, after a long absense I am returning to FM Crowd. There are a number of reasons for me not returning as quickly as I would have hoped but i will spare you the details. The main thing is that I am back and raring to go.

Now onto the fun part :) I will be returning as manager of…

My local team, The Bully Wee, Clyde Football Club in the Scottish Third Division.
Only a few years ago they were in the First Division but after two back to back relegations they club now find themselves in the lowest Scottish league and are in trouble finacially. I plan to take them back to the First Division and further hopefully one day winning the SPL and competing in Europe. But those days are long away and we find ourselves looking towards promotion to the Second Division.

Well thanks for reading guys and I hope you enjoyed it. See you later :)
